Sony Play Station Portable (PSP) launched wayback in 2003 is still one of the best featured portable media devices. Yes, iPods are smaller and better in their own way, but nothing can beat the sheer capability of portable 3D gaming. I don’t get hooked on to the TV late nights to play a game anymore; I just play for an hour before going to bed or sometimes watch a downloaded movie or listen to some music with the lights turned off in the comfort of my bed. For those guys who are married, your wives won’t complain….. you can still allow her to hug you and you can stay focused on the game or maybe not!
It has now something become like reading a book before I sleep, although a game doesn’t give me any gyan. Oh yeah I did learn some crappy greek mythology with the game GOD of War.
It’s also a great travel companion. When I take my trips on a Volvo from Bangalore-chennai I never forget to charge my PSP to the max. It almost lasts 4 hours with intensive gaming/movies/music. The quality of movies is pretty good on the 4.3 inch wide screen.
It just costs Rs.8999/- at any sony store, you would need to invest an additional memory stick and headphones. Games are free downloads if you are a pirate junkie and the mod to run the downloaded games would cost 1000 bucks. ( Mod you PSP with a rookie modder and you can use your PSP as a costly paperweight).
The few features I don’t like in a PSP - 1. The UMD Drive which I haven’t used a single time and makes the device bulky 2. Lack of built in hard drive 3. No proper net browsing capability.
What I would wish for this Christmas? A cross between iPod touch and Sony PSP would be wonderful minus itunes of course!

Is there any kind of PSP clone available in
the market.
